1. Overview - chapter 2 : it

1) it의 쓰임
- 인칭대명사 it : '그' 또는 '그것'
- 비인칭주어 it : '주어' 가 들어갈 자리에 마땅한 주어가 없을 경우
   ex) How long does it take ~

2) 독해에서 유의해야 할 it
- 가주어 it : 주어가 toV, ~ing, 명사절일 때
   ex) It gives me a headache / to think of the exam.

- 가목적어 it : 목적어가 toV, ~ing, 명사절일 때
   ex) I thought it better / to tell the truth.

- it ~ that 강조구문
ex) It is the internet // that has revolutionized out way of life
=> 여기서 it is, that을 삭제해도 문장이 됨

2. blood vessels : 혈관, vessel : 배, 관

3. it~ that과 관련된 숙어
- It [ seems, appears, happens, occurs, turns out ] that
- seems, appears : ~인 것 같다
- chances, happens : 우연히 ~ 하다. 공교롭게도 ~ 하다.
- occurs, turns out : ~임이 판명되다

4. it takes ~
ex)
It takes me five minutes to complete the work.
It takes five minutes for me to complete the work.

   contemporary : 동시대의, 현대의
   work : 일, 작품
   ill at ease : = uncomfortable

1. 가주어/ 진주어의 판단
It ~ that

it ~ -ing // ing는 너무 길지 않고는 대부분 앞에 쓰임

2. pay : 지불하다, (자동사) 이익이 되다 = be profitable
ex) Honesty pays. 정직함은 이익이 된다.
   Jim's idea paid off. Jim의 아이디어는 유용했다.

3. Millions buy / a lottery ticket / and imagine / what it would be like / for their money problems / to be over once and for all.
수백만명의 사람들이 산다 / 복권을 / 그리고 상상한다 / 그것이 어떨지 / (의미상의 주어) 그들의 돈 문제가 / 한번에 해결될 수 있을지를.

what is A like? = A는 어떠한가?
ex) What's the weather like? = 날씨가 어때요?
